My mother is the plant whisperer, plants are always flourishing and growing in her space. Whenever I care for them, I would water and talk to them. She told me it was important to sow positive words, so that they would grow. It actually enhances the growth and keeps the plants healthy. I also learned the benefits are also for the humans. It can reduce stress and promote positive energy. That’s part of the reason why I appreciate those who have the gift of gardening. The patience to care for the soil, nurture the seed and water to prepare for the harvest. It’s the attention to detail and commitment to the process.
Even though I don’t think I have a green thumb, but I can connect with the principle of sowing.
When I celebrate the harvests of the people in my circle, I appreciate it because I know what it took for them to sow. We’re approaching graduation harvest season, but I celebrate the sowing process of study and sacrifice.
The harvest that I grow will depend on the seeds that I sow. But the wonderful byproduct of a harvest is that it motivates you to continue to sow more and more and more....
The late Dr. Myles Munroe devoted a substantial part of his ministry to teaching about the importance of knowing your purpose. I had the opportunity to hear him in person years ago and his quote still rings in my ears, “” The greatest tragedy is not death, but a life without a purpose.”
Recently those words came back to me and I envisioned a large field, rich with soil and potential, yet no seeds were planted. There’s an endless amount of dreams waiting to be fulfilled, books to be written, lives to be changed and opportunities that are begging and waiting to grow……………..
But the question the field is asking is, “When will you sow?”
Danyelle Thomas says that “Discomfort is the most fertile soil.” Let that marinate. Discomfort pushes us out of comfort zones and calls us to sow seeds of faith I read that discomfort has the ability to dissolve or crack my protective shell to release the seed necessary for growth and transformation, (@godwanderswithme)
What are you sowing?
What is your field of dreams asking you?
There are always opportunities for us to sow into others. I recently thanked a friend for their ministry of sowing and their harvests, Later that day one of the youth shared their testimony during service, the Spirit put some scriptures on my heart to share with him.
I got distracted after service and didn’t get to him. I didn’t have peace until I texted a friend and asked if he could pass on the message for me. The peace came in the sowing.
He texted the teen and copied me. I received a text from the youth saying that he really needed this, appreciated and would use the scriptures to use in his prayer each night. My peace came with the sowing, I didn’t do it for the response. But there is a blessing in receiving a harvest you know, it encourages you to sow.
“When you carefully tend the seeds of your talents, gifts and passions that you sow, It will allow the harvest of your PURPOSE to grow.”
