“Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see,” Matthew 5:15
I promise you that I am talking to myself louder than anyone else, but if this hits you too—then come on in and let’s sit with it.
These past few days I’ve been in a conference that stretched me, challenged me, and restored me. Some unexpected travel delays have given me a little extra time to stay away, reflect, and just be. I’ve also been blessed to spend extra time with some real special people. I’ll fly back to my home eventually.
But it’s past midnight, and I have to pour this out.
Stop hiding.
Stop hiding your gifts.
Stop hiding your talents.
Stop hiding your voice.
Think about the books that have transformed your life.
Think about that one artist or that one song that keeps you going when you feel like giving up.
Think about the movie that you’ve watched a thousand times and still cry or laugh or feel joy like it’s the first time you’re watching it.
Now imagine if the person who wrote that book decided not to write it.
Imagine if the artist never released that song.
Imagine if the filmmakers said, “Nah, I’ll just keep this to myself.”What if all of that stayed hidden?
How devastating would that be?
It’s the same way when we hide our gifts. Somebody is on the other side of our yes.
Somebody is praying for the very thing that God already placed inside you.
Your gift.Your anointing.
Your story.
Your message.
Your book.
Your business.
Your creativity.
Your wisdom.
Your presence.
All of it has the power to transform someone’s life.
But not if it stays hidden.
So I’m saying it to myself the loudest of all Because it is true:
Stop hiding, y’all… the world needs the light 💡 of YOU
Somebody’s breakthrough is attached to your obedience.
