This Is the Day: A Gift from God
Today is my birthday—and yes, I celebrate all month long! But God has been reminding me of something deeper: every single day is a gift. Not just today, not just the milestones, but every sunrise, every breath, every new moment is wrapped in God’s mercy and grace.
Psalm 118:24 declares, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
So today, it’s not just about me—it’s about the gift of today. What if we approached every day as a sacred gift from God? How might our gratitude grow? How might our hearts open wider? How might we live differently if we truly embraced each day as a divine invitation to experience joy, grace, and love?
As we reflect, let’s hold onto this promise from Lamentations 3:22-23:
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Every morning is a fresh reminder that God’s love is still at work, and His mercies are custom-made for us, just for today. You don’t have to carry yesterday’s burdens into today’s blessings. Each sunrise brings new opportunities for grace, healing, and joy.
Maya Angelou once said, “This is a wonderful day. I’ve never seen this one before.”
Let those words settle in your spirit. You’ve never seen this day before. It holds something new, something sacred—something God wants to offer you right now.
