Take Love

Exhale …..

December the 25th has passed, yet Christmas isn’t done.

Howard Thurman reminds us that the Work of Christmas has just begun

When the song of the angels is stilled

When the star in the sky is gone,

When the kings and princes are home,

When the shepherds are back with their flock,

The work of Christmas begins:

To find the lost,

To heal the broken,

 To feed the hungry,

To release the prisoner,

To rebuild the nations,

To bring peace among others,

To make music in the heart.

Howard Thurman reminds us that now is time for work of Christmas to start.

It’s love, ya”ll

On this last Monday of 2021, reflecting on all that has shifted and changed, always remember that love remains.

My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love.  1 John 4:7-8

As we go into the last week of this year and prepare for a new one, we think about what we take with us and what we leave here in 2021

Take love into the rest of this year and on the next one.

The work of Christmas has just begun.

Love on someone today, send a text, write a letter, buy some food, have a conversation, take the time to be present. Provide a safe place where others feel comfortable and a brave confidential space where they are comfortable enough to share their authentic self.

Include yourself on the list of those who you love on, take time to be with yourself, pray and be intentional about treating yourself with love and care

Take love

If anything has emerged from this season, it is the realization that we need each other, we need community, connection and to be there for each other. I am grateful for family , friends and framily (friends who become family) I am grateful for love found in safe spaces, sacred meals, places where tears can flow freely and the gift of intentional presence.

Gwendolyn Brooks’ quote “We are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond” is the embodiment of 1 John 4:7-8

Take love with you

As we go into the last week of this year and prepare for a new one, thinking about what we take with us and what we leave here in 2021

Love remains with us because the work of Christmas has just begun ….

We are the work of Christmas and the embodiment of love

Love remains

It’s love ya’ll

Love you
