Since I’m Still Here …
“ When Jesus arrived at Peter’s house, Peter’s mother-in-law was in bed with a high fever. But when Jesus touched her hand, the fever left her; and she got up and prepared a meal for them!” Matthew 8:14-17
Recently my Pastor preached a sermon that made me see this passage through a new lens. She shared after Peter’s mother in law was healed, the first thing she did was serve those who were in her home. It was interesting that this was her next move. But as my pastor shared that her actions were the embodiment of “Since I’m here, I might as well serve.”
Since I’m here …
This woman was given another chance and the first thing she did was be a blessing.
Since I’m still here …
Each day is an opportunity to be a blessing …. I wonder what would happen if I changed my mindset to ..
” Since I’m still here, I might as well ….. Write the blog, send the card, create the art, have the conversation, encourage my loved ones, send the text, accept the assignment, preach the sermon, sing the song, launch the project, serve my family …
