Each Day Is A Journey ..

I have spent this first week nesting. Returning from holiday, accompanied by a slight cold, gave me permission to slow down—resting my voice and staying home as we crossed into 2025.

In my travels, I’ve found comfort in moments of stillness, like visiting airport chapels. These quiet spaces offer a chance to exhale in the busyness of lines, delays, and layovers.

When time allows, and I’m not running to catch a flight like this ……

I make it a practice to discover these chapels and ground myself. Recently, I took a moment to pause in the chapel at my local airport. I breathed deeply, settled my spirit, and reflected on this piece of paper with a prayer that the chapel prepared. Here it is ….

Traveler’s Prayer

O God, please bless the journey I undertake, that it may profit the health of my soul, mind, and body.

May Your love protect me on my journey and guard me from perils on the way.

May I reach my destination in peace and fulfill my mission.

May I return to my home in joy and peace.

Amen

I keep this prayer with me and now recite it daily—not just for flights or big events, but for all the small journeys each day brings. Whether it’s an appointment, a conversation, or simply showing up to life, I want to approach each moment with purpose and intention.

This New Year, take your time. Don’t stress if you haven’t written up resolutions. Each day is its own journey, filled with opportunities to pause, breathe, and move forward with grace.

Take time today—and every day—for the journey.

Happy New Year,
Sheila
